vv1(u)[di]ṭho bhodi teṇa tatra bhikhuṇa viharami uku[ḍ̱i]ae ṇiṣ̱iḏita ajali pragrahita eva vatavo
The monk to whom [a vihāra] is assigned, should sit down there in the vihāra in squatting posture, stretch out his folded hands [i.e. perform the añjali greeting], and speak thus:
Pay attention, venerable: because I, the monk N.N., enter the early three-month rain
retreat in this residential district, [situated] within a boundary (sīmā),
sharing one poṣatha ceremony and [shared by] members of the same community, relying
on a begging ground, (I will make) repair of this vihāra as much as necessary, if there is no hindrance.
This is to be said (a second and) a third [time].
[This is] a single request (jñaptikarman) for approval. And for what a monk looks approval, that all (is) in this case (to
be said) 2 [times and] a third [time].
